By focusing on the development of clusters in Sendai City's creative industry, and by working hand-in-hand with the organization dedicated to fusing industry, educational institutions and government - Creative Cluster Consortium - Creative Anthology Sendai shares creative information by introducing you to projects and people of the Sendai Region - and it does this in a pinpoint, easy-to-access 'collected story' style.

Sendai City is located in Japan's north eastern, Tohoku-region and has a population of 103 million people. It takes an hour and half by bullet train from Tokyo. Residing on the Pacific Ocean side of Japan, Sendai is known as "The City of Trees" due to its abundance of greenery found spread throughout the city. It also has many universities and is host to cutting edge science and technology research.
Sendai is the city with third highest amount of creative industry per capita (as of 2006) in Japan.
Sendai Creative Cluster Consortium (SC3) provides support for creators and creative industry alike. By taking a creative approach to linking municipalities with society, SC3 is an organization dedicated to fusing industry, educational institutions and government with the goal of helping creative businesses in Sendai take shape.
We support and nurture creators, creative enterprises, projects with the goal of increasing the value and growth of regional businesses, as well as projects with the ambition of rendering an area more creative.
In order to help shape mutual networks between creators and creative enterprises, as well as the networks between creative enterprises and regional business, we bring forth and put on new-style collaborations at cafe-style-meetings, study sessions, exchange assemblies, and seminars.
At the Consortium website, we circulate informaton, PR concerning authorized enterprises, as well as the active movements of Sendai Creative Cluster. Also, we established the website dedicated to dispatching information on the art work of Sendai City's wide-range of creators - Sendai Creative Anthology (registration is free) - and distribute e-mail newsletters.
Our Consortium is composed of approximately 250 members who are primarily graphic, web, visual image, and product creators. Also, we receive creative cooperation from Sendai City and Miyagi Prefecture administrative bodies, Miyagi Prefecture Visual Image Production Association, Miyagi Prefecture Printing Association, as well as creative, non-government organizations such as Tohoku University, Tohoku Institute of Technology, and Tohoku University of Art and Design.
SC3 producers are entrusted with enabling our consortium to work smoothly, discovering new creators and supporting creative projects.
